Biographical / Historical

Author and bookseller Franny Billingsley was born on July 3, 1954. She earned her B.A. from Tufts University (1976) and her J.D. from the Boston University Law School (1979) After working as a lawyer for five years, she became a book buyer for 57th Street Books in Chicago. Since 1999 she has been a writer and speaker. Her first book for children Well Wished, was published in 1997. She has published five novels for young people. Billingsley lives in Chicago where she works as a children's bookseller.
