Biographical / Historical

Mary Jane Carr was born in Portland, Oregon and attended St. Mary's College in her home state. She was the associate editor of the Catholic Sentinel for several years and then worked at the Oregonian before writing children's books. Her first book for children was Children of the Covered Wagon. Carr died in 1988 at age 92.
