Biographical / Historical

Author Carol Hatfield Carrick wrote dozens of books for children, many of which were illustrated by her husband Donald (1929-1989). She was born in 1935 and raised in Queens, New York, received a bachelor's degree from Hofstra University in 1957, and married Donald Carrick in 1965. Prior to becoming a children's book writer she worked as a commercial and freelance artist. Carrick died in 2013.
