Biographical / Historical

Mary Carroll Nelson was Born April 24, 1929 in College Station, Texas. She received her B.A. from Barnard College and her M.A. from the University of New Mexico. A teacher for most of her life, Nelson is also an artist and former art teacher at the Sunset Mesa School in Albuquerque. Her writings include and Native American biography series for young readers, as well as several books on art and painting.
