The collection contains written production material for children's books (published and unpublished), written by Patricia Lee Gauch as well as numerous other titles written by various authors and edited by Gauch. The material inlcudes typescripts, manuscript pages, proofs, correspondence, marketing material, sketches, artwork and other related items.

Biographical / Historical

Patricia Lee Gauch was born January 3, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan. She holds a Ph.D. in English literature and has written nearly forty books for children, in addition to reviewing and teaching writing. She also spent much of career as an editor, serving as the Editorial Director of Philomel Books for nearly 25 years. She lives in Virginia.
