This collection consists of typescripts, notes, clippings, photographs, correspondence, research material, and cassette tapes for ten children's books, both fiction and nonfiction (including many biographies) written by Weidt.

Biographical / Historical
Maryann Weidt was born on May 5, 1944 in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She received her B.A. degree from the College of St. Catherine in 1966 and her M.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1976. Maryann Weidt was a children's services librarian for Hennepin County Library, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Duluth Public Library, Duluth, Minnesota. She is best known as an author of biographies aimed at grade school children, but she has also published a picture books.
