Scope and Contents
The collection contains photocopies of a manuscript and typescripts for Güner Ener's English translation of Sister Shako and Kolo the Goat, written by the former mayor of Ankara about his childhood, and originally published in Turkey in 1979. The English translation earned a Mildred Batchelder Honor in 1995.

Güner Ener was born in 1935 in Samsun, Turkey. She is an author, translator, and artist. Her translation of Sister Shako and Kolo the Goat earned a Mildred Batchelder Honor in 1995.
