Biographical / Historical

Patricia Miles Martin was born in 1899 in Cherokee, Kansas, attended the University of Wyoming, and taught school for four years before moving to California with her husband, Edward R. Martin. She signed up for a class in creative writing at the College of San Mateo in 1957, and published her first book, Sylvester Jones and the Voice in the Forest, the next year. She published under the names Jerry Lane, Patricia A. Miles, and Miska Miles. She died in 1986 in San Mateo, California.
