Biographical Sketch

Cliff V. Faulknor was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on March 3, 1913. He married Elizabeth Hariette Sloan in 1943. He graduated with honors from the University of British Columbia in 1949. From 1954 to 1975, he was associate editor of Country Guide, a national farm monthly magazine. In 1964 he won the Canadian Children's Book Award for The White Calf. Pen and Plowwas named best nonfiction book by an Alberta writer in 1976. He received the Vicky Metcalf Award in 1979 for his contributions to Canadian literature. Biographical Source: Something About the Author, Vol. 86, p. 84-86
