Biographical / Historical
Beatrice Pitney Lamb was born May 12, 1904. She earned a BA from Bryn Mawr College in 1927 and an MA from Columbia University in 1956. She worked for several years as an editor for United Nations News, as well as a lecturer at New York University. She traveled to India many times, and wrote several books related to the country, as well as revising the article on India for World Book Encyclopedia. She died in 1997.
