Born May 12, 1904, daughter of Mahlon and Florence Pitney, married Horace R. Lamb, February 8, 1930.,

Education: Westover School, Bryn Mawr College, B. A., 1927; Columbia University, M. A., 1956.

Career: United Nations News, editor, 1945-49; New York University, lecturer, 1959-65.

Writings: Several books relating to India. Twice revised the article on India for the World Book Encyclopedia.
