Biographical / Historical

Tillie Schloss Pine was born March 4, 1896 in Poland. She came to United States in 1905 and became a naturalized citizen in 1913. She married Nathan Pine in 1924. Pine attended New York Training School for Teachers. In addition to writing for juveniles, her career included teaching, consulting, and director of a day camp. Tillie S. Pine died in 1999.
