Biographical / Historical
Joy Buba was born in 1904 in Lloyd's Neck, New York. She spent her childhood summers outdoors with birds, plants, and animals. She studied at Eberle Studio in New York, then continued schooling in Germany at the Staedel Kunst Institute in Frankfort and the Art Academy in Munich. She became a sculptor, book and magazine illustrator. She died in 1998.
