Biographical / Historical
Arthur Rackham was born September 19, 1867, in London, England. He attended Lambeth School of Art and married an artist, Edyth Starkie. Contributing to over seventy titles, Rackham illustrated works by authors such as Jonathan Swift, Washington Irving, William Shakespeare, Aesop, Charles Dickens, John Milton, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Edgar Allen Poe. Arthur Rackham died in 1939.
