Biographical Sketch
Michelle Edwards was born January 25, 1965, in Bridgeport, CT. When she was eighteen, she went to live and work on an Israeli kibbutz outside Jerusalem. Edwards drew, painted, and began to write during her stay on the kibbutz. By the time she was ready to return home, Edwards had committed herself to pursuing a creative profession. After several difficult years, she was successful in establishing herself as a published author and illustrator. In 1992 her self-illustrated book, Chicken Man, won the Marcia and Louis Posner Award for children's picture book.
