Biographical / Historical

Barbara Ann Porte was born May 18, 1943 in New York City, NY. She attended Iowa State University and received a B.S. Degree from Michigan State University. In 1969, she graduated with a M.S. Degree in Librarianship from Palmer Graduate Library School. Ms. Porte pursued a library and writing career. She is best known for her "Harry" books for beginning readers, but she does write books for middle grades and young adults.
