Biographical / Historical
James Cross Giblin, award-winning nonfiction children’s author and editor, was born July 8, 1933. Giblin began his career in children’s books editing and publishing with Clarion and later Houghton Mifflin. In 1989 he began writing full-time and was the author of children and young adult books. As an author, Giblin wrote more than twenty nonfiction books for young readers. He died April 10, 2016 in New York City, at age 82.
