Biographical / Historical

Artist Stephen T. Johnson was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and earned his BFA from the University of Kansas. He has worked in a variety of mediums, and his work is displayed at galleries and museums, as well as being featured in public locations (including a murals in subway stations in New York and Hollywood). His picture book Alphabet City earned a Caldecott honor. He lives in Lawrence , Kansas.
