Biographical / Historical
Illustrator Ilse Plume was born in Dresden, Germany, before her family moved to the United States, where she earned a BFA and MFA from Drake University. She received a Caldecott Honor for her first book, The Bremen Town Musicians, in 1980. She lives in Massachusetts.
