Biographical / Historical

Denise Fleming was born January 31, 1950 in Toledo, Ohio and earned a degree from Kendall College of Art and Design. She is an American author and illustrator of children's books, best known for her pulp-painting collage technique in which she pours cotton paper pulp through hand-made stencils. She lives in Toledo, Ohio.
