The collection contains two watercolor cover illustrations, as well as pencil drawings related to three juvenile chapter books illustrated by Diane deGroat. All of the books were written by Johanna Hurwitz.

Biographical / Historical
Diane deGroat is an author and illustrator of children's books. She was raised in Bellville, New Jersey and attended the Pratt Institute, graduating with a BFA in commercial illustration in 1969. She has illustrated numerous books for other authors, and has also written and illustrated her own works. She lives in Amherst, MA.
