The collection contains original illustrations, primarily oil with collage paintings, for six children's books illustrated by Heo. The collection also holds a small amount of production material, including dummies and related items, for two books.

Biographical / Historical

Yumi Heo was born in 1964 in Korea, where she grew up. She came to the United States in 1989 where she earned an MFA in illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. The creator of more than 30 children's books, much of her work was done with oil paint and collage. She lived with her husband, Steven Dana, and children in White Plains, NY, prior to her death from cancer in 2016.
