Biographical Note

Eugene Ethelbert Miller was born in New York on November 20, 1950. Known as E. Ethelbert Miller, he has published numerous collections of poetry and two memoirs. Miller has edited several poetry anthologies as well. Miller is also known for his work as a teacher; along with teaching at several institutions, he is also a core faculty member of the writing seminars at Bennington College and since 1974 has served as director of Howard University's African-American Resource Center. This collection documents Miller's relationship with poet/dramatist Amiri Baraka, as well as subject materials on Baraka collected by Miller.
