HISTORICAL SKETCH

Of Finnish American descent, Anderson was a poet, author of 'Lines in Snow' (1977). He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Minnesota. He later taught English at the secondary school and community college level in Detroit, Michigan.

Abstract

Papers consist of a biographical sketch and family history, portrait, unpublished poems, manuscript copy of an essay on W.B Yeats, fellowship application, notes, a letter from Robert Hayden (Consultant in Poetry, Library of Congress), and a tape recording of Anderson reading from 'Lines in Snow' at the Library of Congress in 1978.
