Papers (1939-1972) of Ukrainian American ballet master and film producer Vasyl (or Wasyl) Avramenko (1895- ) comprise programs, flyers, and pictures of his activities in the United States and Canada.

HISTORICAL SKETCH
Vasyl (or Wasyl) Avramenko (1895- ) was born in Stebliv, Ukraine. He attended several dance and theater schools before serving in the Russian Army in World War I and the Ukrainian Army from 1918-1920. During his long career, Avramenko organized numerous dance schools and directed many performances in the United States and Canada, including spectacles at the Chicago World's Fair of 1933 and at the White House. He also produced Ukrainian language films and owned a dance studio in New York.
