HISTORICAL SKETCH

Born in 1958 in New York City, Andrusyshyn began his musical career at an early age. A tenor vocalist and guitarist, he sings in his mother's native Belarusan language. In 1990, Andrusyshyn made his first recordings in Ukrainian, his father's native language. He has built a tremendous following in the Belarusan American community, as well as in Belarus itself. In 1989 he toured in the Soviet Union, donating profits to a charity for Chernobyl victims. He has a degree in journailsm.
