Abstract

Adolf Kucera was a post-World War II displaced person and a pre-World War II officer in the Czechoslovak Army. Papers comprise correspondence between Kucera and other Czech DPs (some letters include notes written by Ida Kucera), and a short autobiography of Kucera from the "Archer" magazine.

The collection is organized in four parts:

1) Autobiographical sketch published in the newsletter of the Archer Daniels Midland Company, January-February, 1954 (3 pages).2) Letters to Adolf Kucera from General Vaclav Vlcek of Montreal, Canada, 1950-1970 (included is one letter from 1949 when V. Vlcek's residence was still the Ludwigsburg Displaced Persons (DP) Camp in Germany.) - (ca. 60 pages).3) Letters to Adolf (Ada) and Ida Kucera from General Alois Liska of London, United Kingdom, 1949-1976 - (13 pages).4) Letters to Adolf and Ida Kucera from Miroslav Cigler of Melbourne, Australia, 1949-1971 - (ca. 65 pages).
