HISTORICAL SKETCH

Joseph A.L. Errigo served as Grand Venerable of the Delaware Lodge of OSIA, 1948-1952 and and 1964-1966. He also served as Supreme Recording Secretary of OSIA, 1957-1961 and as third Assistant Supreme Venerable, 1961-1963.

Abstract

Joseph A.L. Errigo Order Sons of Italy Collection comprises records of various OSIA committees of the Delaware Grand Lodge and of local Delaware lodges, and personal papers of Errigo. Also included are newspaper clippings and photographs. Includes materials pertaining to the Immigration and Naturalization Committee, and the National Anti-Defamation Committee. Convention materials pertain to the Supreme convention (1951, 1959), and the Delaware Grand Convention (1977).Also included are correspondence, historical notes, and 1982 officers list of the Caesar Rodney Lodge 2359, Wilmington, Del., along with a Delaware Grand Lodge Venerables list (1922-1979). Personal papers of Errigo include materials relating to his family history, his legal career, the Garibaldi Postage Stamp of 1960, manuscripts of plays, histories and other writings of Errigo, and miscellaneous events relating to Delaware, and photographs.
