Abstract

The Arnold Broccolino Order Sons of Italy in America collection (1934-1975) consists of Supreme Lodge and Grand Lodge records along with records of non-OSIA Italian American organizations and events, photographs, newspaper clippings, and Italian American periodicals. Supreme Lodge records include Anti-Defamation Commission materials and correspondence regarding arbitration cases in Maryland. Records of the Maryland Grand Lodge include a ledger listing state officers and delegates (1936-1961), grand convention minutes (1934-1955), grand convention and council minutes, correspondence, reports, and arbitration case documents (ca. 1970s), newsletters, and reports of local lodges, together with local and national OSIA newspapers.

HISTORICAL SKETCH

Arnold Broccolino served the Order Sons of Italy in America, Maryland Grand Lodge as Grand Venerable (1969-1974), 1st Assistant Grand Venerable (1967-1969), 2nd Assistant Grand Venerable (1959-1963), and Grand Trustee (1956-1959).
