Abstract

The records (1947 -1958) of Philadelphia Latvian archives consist of journals, notebooks, autobiographies, and newsletters.

Included are two handwritten volumes by Paul Veinbergs titled "Atminas un vertejumi" (Memoirs and Appreciations), dealing with Latvian exile, Paul Veinberg’s memories about his first years in the United States, and letters from Fricis Ievins to I.Ritins (1947-1957). Records also contain notebooks with Indrikis Ritins' autobiography and memoirs in a series of articles, a notebook with Fricis Teodors Ievins's autobiography and memoirs (1958) "Atminas par Dundagas pagasta skolam un kulturalo rosibu 1838 - 1901" (Recollections about Dundaga’s District Schools and Cultural Activities during 1838-1901), and "My Dundaga District." The collection also contains a paper titled "Krusts un Zobens" (The Cross and The Sward) written by a grandson of Prof. Richards Zarins, a notebook with Peteris Silins' autobiography, and the newsletter (1948)"Vestis" from the Fischbach DP camp.
