HISTORICAL SKETCH

Magdalena Rozentals (b.1915) was born in Liepaja, Latvia. In 1940 she completed the history program at the University of Latvia and after immigrating to America, received a master's degree in Library Science from Columbia University in New York. She relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she worked at the University of Minnesota Library until her retirement. She has had numerous publications and has served as an editor of Akademiska Dzive, an annual Latvian scholarly journal.
