Russian Orthodox Church Archives records
Abstract
Records of the Russian Greek Orthodox Catholic Church, Alaska Diocese, comprise records of the Diocese and of the Russian Orthodox Church Archives. Records of the Archives contain correspondence, reports, registers, and other Church records. The bulk of the records concern the Khvikhpak (Yukon) River Mission. These cover the foundation of the mission from 1845 up to 1959. Also included are correspondence and parish records books of the mission; parish records of various other churches in Alaska; and an index to the records of the Alaska church collection of the Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church of North America, which is held at the Library of Congress.
