Radzilowski Family papers
Abstract
Collection consists of materials pertaining to three generations of the Radzilowski family in the United States: Genevieve Radzialowski, her son Thaddeus Radzilowski, scholar of immigration history, and her grandson John Radzilowski, immigration historian and expert on Polonia history.
First four boxes of the collection document John Radzilowski's activities in the following Polish American organizations during the 1900s and 2000s: Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota (PACIM), Polish American Historical Association (PAHA) and Polish Museum of America. Collection also contains documentation regarding the expansion of NATO in 1998 (to include Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary) and the associated lobbying efforts of the concerned ethnic groups in the United States; materials regarding the Holy Cross Parish and the Polish National Alliance Hall in Northeast Minneapolis. Additionally, the collection contains John Radzilowski's research notes, drafts of chapters, photocopied sources and other materials related to his research during the writing of his "History of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America".
Boxes 5-14 contain materials of Thaddeus Radzilowski from the period ca. 1960-2000s. Papers include correspondence, subject files, project proposals, conference presentations, research resource materials, drafts of articles, newspaper clippings, and materials related to a multitude of Polish American organizations.
Box 15 holds documentation of Genevieve Radzialowski's involvement in the St. Florian Catholic Church, Hamtramck, Michigan, dating from the period ca. 1920-1980s, featuring the altar society records, minute books and church history-related materials.
