John A. Saladino papers
Abstract
The John A. Saladino Order Sons of Italy in America collection (1965-1987) consists of Supreme Lodge records including convention records (1973-1987), council minutes (1974-1986), correspondence (1981-1985), National Foundation minutes and reports (1972-1986), and reports of activities such as the OSIA News Committee and the Commission on Membership and Expansion. Massachusetts Grand Lodge records include convention records (1965-1987), council minutes (1969-1983), correspondence (1977-1979), reports of the Organization and Education Commission and other committees, and Benefit Insurance Commission minutes and reports (1968-1987). Records of Medford Lodge No. 1359 and other local lodges are also included, along with newspaper clippings, photographs, and OSIA pens, name tags, and regalia.

HISTORICAL SKETCH
John A. Saladino was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 3, 1940. He graduated from Medford High School in 1958 and recieved a baccalaureate in Business Administration from Boston University in 1961. he is married to Sandra Cullinane of Reading. Massachusetts and the couple has two sons, John R. and Gary M.
John Saladino has worked as an administrator for the Boy Scouts, as a bank loan officers, insurance salesman, for the Treasurer in the City of medford, and for the Massachusetts Departments of Revenue and Corporations and Taxation. He has been active in the Boy Scouts, the Elks, and the Madonna Queen National Home/Don Orione Home for Aged. Saladino joined OSIA in 1965 and has held office at the local, state and national levels, as follows:

The collection is organized into eight series: 1) Biography; 2) OSIA national; 3) OSIA State; 4) OSIA Local; 5) Non-OSIA; 6) Newsclippings; 7) Photographs; and 8) Artifacts. The materials span the years 1965-1987, and all documents are in English.

The collection was acquired from John A. Saladino in September 1987 by John Andreozzi, Sons of Italy Archives Project Coordinator.
