Abstract

Papers of Symans consist of correspondence of him and his wife Therese M. Symans; newspaper clippings, mostly from Grand Rapids, Mich.; personal papers; research notes; and scrapbooks. Correspondence and clippings pertain to immigraton, genealogy, and articles and poetry written by Symans. Also included are newsletters of the Polish Heritage Society.

HISTORICAL SKETCH

Symans (originally Edward A. Syzymanski) served in Poland for many years in the United States Foreign Service. He has published three volumes of poetry and is a founder of the Polish Heritage Society of Grand Rapids (Mich.).
