Abstract
The archive is compiled by Tiia McGovern, who is also the donor. The archive does not have any documents concerning Tiia McGovern. Consists of: papers of Hartvig Reinvalla and his wife Ellen Hildegard Luht Reinvalla, correspondence, personal documents (include certificates from DP camps), lists of persons in DP camps Haunstetten, Linz/Donau in Austria. Also lists of survivors of sunken steamships "Moero" and "Nordstern" in 1944, newspaper clippings about Estonia.

Hartvig Vilhelm Reinvald (Reinvalla)Born 18. March 1896 in Pikavere, Estonia1916-1917 participated in WWI, 1918-1920 in the Estonian War of Independence, 1920-1923 worked in Tallinn Town Farmacy, 1923-1930 studied mathematics in the University of Tartu, 1927-1935 was a teacher in Paldiski Gymnasium, 1935-1944 teacher in Põltsamaa Gymnasium. 1944 emigrated to Germany, 1949 to USA. 1952-1962 worked as a clerk in "American Home Insurance Co". Retired in 1962. Academically a member of Estonian Students Society. Father: Anton (school teacher) Wife: Ellen Hildegard (nee Luht) 31. Jan. 19111931-1944 worked as an archivist and managing clerk in the Estonian Ministry of Interior Central Office of the Family Records, Oct. 1944-March 1945 was a clerk in the Refugee Organization for Estonian Refugees in Berlin and Linz (Germany and Austria), 1945-1948 worked as a secretary in the International Refugee Organization on UNRRA/IRO in Augsburg DP camp (Germany), March 1949-Sept. 1949 worked as a clerk in the International Refugee Organization Area Employment Office, in 1949 emigrated to USA. From 1949 worked as a housemaid in New York.

PROVENANCE
Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, New Jersey), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2012. Gristel Ramler and Tiina Trumberg of the National Archives in Tallinn, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.
