DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLECTION

The photographs in this collection depict the families of Lydia (Leskella) and Rasmus Hanson. The Leskella family operated a ranch in Buffalo, South Dakota and Lydia worked as a teacher. The photographs are predominately of rural places including Buffalo, South Dakota and Leaf Lake, Minnesota. More recent photographs show Lydia and Rasmus Hanson’s home in New York Mills, Minnesota.
