14.04.1914 - 04.10.2007 Santa Monica, CA, USA. Born in Tallinn, Estonia. Artist (sculptor, leathercraft), poetess. Husband: Herman Kabe (1918-2003, married in 1942); brother: Johannes Kohaloo; son: Alvar Mehis (Ph.D.); daughters: Lenne Kaiv, Elo Rüüt. Emigrated to Germany in 1944 and from there to Sweden in 1946. 1957-1963 lived in Venezuela, 1963-2007 in U.S.

PROVENANCE
Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, New Jersey), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2009. Gristel Ramler and Birgit Nurme of the National Archives in Tallinn, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.
