HISTORICAL SKETCH

Vietnam Veteran, US Army Sergeant. Served in Vietnam several times (in 1967, 1969 and 1970). Received numerous awards for his service. Bronze star medal 1967, 1970, 1971 for meritorious achievment in ground operations in Vietnam. Also received a meritorious service medal for service as Non-Commissioned Officer in Fort Polk, Louisiana 02.03.1972 - 30.06.1975. Retired from the army in 1975. Participated in the Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization Program as a weapons instructor 1976-1978.

ORGANIZATION OF MATERIALS

Archive consists of 7 folders. Folder 1 consists of documents related to Harry Isak's service in the U.S. military, rest of the folders consist of Harry Isak's memorabilia.

PROVENANCE

Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, New Jersey), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2012. Gristel Ramler and Tiina Trumberg of the National Archives in Tallinn, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.
