Diplomat. Graduated from Tallinn Secondary Science School (Tallinna Reaalkool) in 1929. 1931-1936 studied in University of Tartu, B.A. in economics. 1937 started studies in École Libre des Sciences Politiques et Économiques in Paris. From 1935 worked in the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 1937-1938 worked in the Estonian Embassy in Paris, from 1938 in the Stockholm Embassy. 1944 official at the "Svenska Handelsbanken" in Sweden. Head of department at "Misomex AB". 01.05.1967 – 04.12.1980 consul of the Republic of Estonia in New York. Academically a member of the fraternity Fraternitas Estica (korp! Fraternitas Estica) since 1931. Wife: Maimu Linkhorst (nee Maiste) Married 1939 Son: Jaak Robert Member of: Estonian Committee, Estonian Relief Committee, Eesti rahvusfond (Sweden), Regional Union of Free Journalists from East and Central Europe in Sweden, Estonian Red Cross etc.

ORGANIZATION OF MATERIALS
Archive consists of 6 series and 29 folders.
PROVENANCE
Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, New Jersey), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2012. Gristel Ramler and Tiina Trumberg of the National Archives in Tallinn, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.
