HISTORICAL SKETCH

Federation of Ukrainians in Great Britain (Obiednannia ukraintsiv u Velykii Britanii) was founded in 1949 in London as a cultural-educational organization as an alternative to the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain.In 1980, it had 12 branches with 2,400 members. The federation ran several Ukrainian schools and supported a choir in Oldham.("Encyclopedia of Ukraine," University of Toronto Press, 1984)
