Leons Rumaks papers
Abstract
The Leons Rumaks collection contains a number of various documents (letters, newspapers, publications, prints, pamphlets, programs, pictures, etc.) pertaining to the life of Mr. Rumaks as well as Latvian culture. Leons Rumaks was born on Febuary 5th, 1919, and passed away in January of 1987. The materials deal with a number of different Latvian topics, such as ‘The Red Scare’, Latvian culture, and Latvians in America. One particular folder (in box 2) contains information on the struggle that Leons Rumaks had when trying to immigrate to America. Most of the collection is in Latvian or German, but there are some English documents as well.
