Konstantin Modanik 21.02.1898 - 07.07.1984 Illinois, USA. Born in Oudova, Russia. Wife: Herta Modanik (married 14.07.1932) Policeman. Participated in the Estonian War of Independence. Received the Estonian White Cross award. Graduated Police Academy in 1927, and Displaced Persons Police School at Stuttgart, Germany in 1947. Herta Modanik 18.10.1910 - 1979? Born in Mustvee, Estonia. Bureau assistant, nurse at the Wiesbaden DP camp, physical therapist in the U.S.-zone, Germany, IRO.

Collection transferred to the IHRC from the Estonian Archives in the U.S.A. (EAU) in 2003-2005. It was processed as part of a collaborative project between the Estonian Archives in the USA (Lakewood, New Jersey), the National Archives of Estonia (NAE), and the IHRC in March 2009. Gristel Ramler and Birgit Nurme of the National Archives in Tallinn, Estonia, worked with IHRC staff on the project.
