Miscellaneous letters regarding the newspaper "Corriere del Popolo" and Italian American labor activity. Included are four photocopied letters from Egidio Clemente to Luigi Antonini (1958-1962).

Biographical / Historical
Carmelo Zito (b. 1899) emigrated from Italy in 1923. He served as associate editor of "Il Veltro" (1924-1925) and "Il Nuovo Mondo" (1925-1930). In 1931, he moved from New York to San Francisco where he worked for three years with the WPA Federal Writers Project. In 1935, he became editor of "Corriere del Popolo" and in 1937 became the newspaper's publisher.
