BIOGRAPHY OF WALTER JACOBY
Walter Jacoby and his family, (wife Joan, son Russell, and daughters Susan, Gail, and Nancy) arrived in Lebanon in 1967. The aftermath of the Arab-Israeli Six-Day War heightened the need for Jacoby's training of refugee workers. Also while in Lebanon he was instrumental in the establishment of a new YMCA Center in Beirut which had the effect of greatly increasing membership.

The collection contains correspondence by Walter Jacoby to Cody Moffat and Millard Collins while Jacoby was employed by the International Committee of the YMCA of the United States and Canada as staff with the YMCA in Beirut, Lebanon.
