Scope and Content Note

The collection contains plans and photographs of residences, furniture, businesses, schools and recreation complexes designed by architect David Salmela. Included in the collection are the plans for the Gooseberry Falls Visitors' Center, Queen City Federal Bank (Virginia, MN), Riverdale Inn and the Wadena Technical Institute (Wadena, MN).

Biographical Note

David Salmela is an apprentice trained architect based in Duluth, Minnesota. In 1994, he opened his own architecture firm, Salmela Architect. Salmela has won 15 Minnesota Honor Awards, been elected to the AIA College of Fellows and won two AIA Honor Awards in 2005.
