The collection includes plans, sketches, details, and other papers from projects constructed by the architectural firms of Ruben Ferster Co. and Foley Brothers. Buildings represented in the collection include elevators, factories, and other commercial structures, in addition to some residences and other dwellings.

Biographical Note
Ruben Ferster was an architect and engineer in Minneapolis from the 1940s-1980s. He was known for his designs of grain elevators, working from his own architectural plans. He had his own company and worked for the Foley Brothers firm and the firm of Foley-Ferster.
