Historical Note

The Drake Marble and Tile Company was founded in the early 1900s and operated out of a plant in St. Paul, MN. Commissions ranged from work in banks and stores to statues and other installations in churches, hospitals and residences. Work by the company in the later years included restoration of the statues on the State Capitol building and the Landmark Center (Old Federal Courts Building) in St. Paul, and the Mabel Tainter Memorial Theatre in Menomonie, WI.

The company was purchased in the 1980s by the Twin City Tile and Marble Company, forming the Twin City Tile-Drake Marble Company.
