Scope and Content Note
These files have been collected at some point from the offices of Richard Cisek, Donald Engle, Boris Sokoloff, Charles Fullmer, and others. They contain correspondence with and for WAMSO, planning materials for events sponsored by WAMSO, and publications and publicity brochures. They detail fund-raising activities such as ticket sales’ campaigns, the Symphony Ball, and educational activities such as the Young Artists Competition(first held in 1956).
These records are not the official records of WAMSO.

Materials are restricted. Prior permission in writing from the President of the Minnesota Orchestral Association is required. For access, please contact the curator. The original documents do not circulate and may only be used in the Reading Room of the Manuscripts Division.

Photoreproduction and audio reproduction of any materials in which the Minnesota Orchestral Association holds copyright, shall be performed only with the written permission of the MOA except for photoreproduction of any published materials of the Association in the public domain.
Historical Note
WAMSOwas founded in 1949 as the Women's Association of Minneapolis Symphony Orchestraunder the leadership of Rosalynd Pflaum. Reflecting changes in volunteerism, the organization changed it name to WAMSO -- Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association.
WAMSO sponsors many activities for children including Kinder Konzertsand Young Artists Competitions. They annually sponsor the Symphony Ballwith proceeds going to support the work of the Minnesota Orchestral Association.
