Historical Note
The St. Paul Philharmonic Society, now known as the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, is the only full-time professional chamber orchestra in the United States. The orchestra was founded in the 1950s and continues to perform locally at the Ordway Center in St. Paul, as well as conducting national and international tours. The musicians of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra present more than 100 concerts and educational programs in the Twin Cities each year. They also emphasize music accessibility, with over 50 percent of the tickets avaliable for fifteen dollars or less. Free tickets are also offered to children and students.
