Barbra Berlovitz Collection of Theatre de la Jeune Lune Video Recordings
Scope and Content Note
The collection contains nine video recordings on VHS and Umatic formats. A majority of the tapes contain footae from Theatre de la Jeune Lune performance from the late 1980s to early 1990s. Also included is a recording of "Paf" and "Jeux de Masques," a work created by Berlovitz and Dominique Serrand prior to founding Theatre de la Jeune Lune.

Biographical or Historical Note
Barbra Berlovitz is a theatre artist and instructor in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduting from Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France, she formed a performance duo with Dominique Serrand. The two artists performed under the name Berlovitz and Serrand in France and the USA for several years before co-founding the Tony Award-winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune in Minneapolis. Berlovitz served as co-artistic director for the company for twenty-five years, during which time she directed, performed, and created new work. She continues to act and direct in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area, as well as teach. She is an instructor with Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota, and co-instructs workshops through Studio 206.
